  I shop at this Co-op almost every single day because it’s local to both my home and workplace, but the customer service is consistently disappointing. Staff are often rude, dismissive, and seem poorly trained. Today’s experience really pushed me over the edge. I went in to buy a Red Bull at the self-checkout and was asked for ID, which is completely fair enough. I initially only had photos of my passport and driving licence on my phone, but the staff member refused to accept them. Again, fair enough, I didn’t argue and simply went home to get my physical ID. When I returned and showed my driving licence, the new staff member (I go her every day and have never seen her so i assume she was new) , she looked me up and down and started laughing, saying “Is that you? That’s not you,” because I was wearing makeup in my licence photo and not today. The makeup in the photo is very subtle and I’m clearly still recognisable. Despite making these comments and laughing, she still approved the age verification anyway. There was absolutely no need for the mocking comments or the attitude. If someone is new to the job, they should be properly trained on how to speak to customers respectfully and professionally. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first bad experience I’ve had at this store. There is also another staff member, a small hijabi lady who has been abrupt and rude to me on multiple occasions and often seems unsure of how to properly do her job. On a day to day basis, the overall customer service in this store is frustratingly poor and unprofessional. Today’s interaction was genuinely embarrassing and unnecessary.

  The prices are always not updated, meal deals are also not included at the tills with what they’re offering at shelf. Wasting time shopping with them.

  A local store with good selection. Unfortunately, the female employee on the evening shift hovered over me several times as I was checking out, treating me as if I were a criminal. This was a singularly negative experience that I had never encountered at other stores. When I noticed this close monitoring, I questioned her "is there a problem," she claimed she was just doing her job, grew defensive, and later walked away loudly proclaiming "so rude." I see no reason to subject myself to this insulting treatment when many other good options exist in the area. I hope this person is shifted to another position that does not involve interactions with customers.
