  We waited over an hour and 15 minutes before our pre-prepared (ie. Didn’t require any cooking) starters arrived. We enquired repeatedly over that time with the hard-to-find waiting staff and were repeatedly told that the food would soon be with us. When the starters finally arrived one was something we didn’t order and one was missing completely. Then after another long wait for our mains we enquired again about their whereabouts and the waiter told us they were just being plated up. Then a few minutes later he came back to the table to say that they had served our meals to another table. We ended up leaving after two hours only having received 3 fifths of our starters and none of our mains. Maybe they were just having a bad day but it’s not worth the risk if you’re looking for a nice pub lunch. Would not recommend.

  A very disappointing and unacceptable experience. We made a reservation at the restaurant one day in advance and arranged our day around it. We travelled to the restaurant as planned, only to arrive and be told that the restaurant had been temporarily closed due to a technical issue. The most frustrating part was that nobody contacted us to let us know. We had a confirmed reservation and had made time for this visit, yet we only found out about the closure after travelling all the way there. If the restaurant was going to be temporarily closed, the least we expected was a phone call, email, or message informing customers with reservations so that we could make alternative plans. We were extremely disappointed to have our time wasted like this. From a place associated with Marriott, we expected a much higher standard of communication and customer service. Unfortunately, this was a very poor experience, and after this incident, we would not feel confident making another reservation here.

  We visited the Adam and Eve in Mill Hill for Sunday roast with the family and left really disappointed. The beef was so undercooked and tough that even a steak knife couldn't cut through it. My son's pasta had clearly been reheated and was rock solid. When I raised both issues with the manager, they barely acknowledged the problem and didn't offer any kind of apology or discount. The pub was also badly understaffed. Every time we needed something, we had to go and find a waitress ourselves. The staff we did see looked either exhausted from being overworked or simply uninterested. Overall, a really poor experience and not worth the money. I wouldn't return unless there are serious changes.

  This is a very nice pub in a very nice area - very well located. However the portion sizes were a rather disrupting factor of the experience. We order a burger that came with no salad, a cauliflower and Indian spice mix which was very good, and 2 wild mushroom pies which were very warming and comforting but the sizes of the meals were needing improvement. Based on the location of the pub, they seem to be able to get away with small portions for rather large prices.

  We visited for Sunday lunch for the first time, having come along with a friend who used to visit regularly a few years ago and had recommended it. Unfortunately, our experience with the food was disappointing. The service was fairly quick, although there wasn’t much interaction beyond taking our order and bringing the food. The roast beef was quite undercooked for my preference and was also very chewy and gristly. Some pieces were so difficult to chew that I was unable to swallow them and had to spit them back into a napkin. This was particularly disappointing as the beef was a main part of the roast. The vegetables were also quite limited, and there was one piece that we weren’t able to identify. It was shaped somewhat like a carrot but was completely black. When we asked a member of staff what it was, she wasn’t sure either. She commented, “Oh yes, it does look burnt,” and then walked away, which left us a little surprised that there wasn’t any further explanation or offer to replace it. The roast potatoes were very small and, to us, tasted as though they had been reheated after being cooked from frozen. The cauliflower cheese, which was an additional extra, was enjoyable, as was the Yorkshire pudding. Unfortunately, we both felt the overall meal fell short of what we had hoped for, particularly given the £21.50 price, and neither of us finished our meals. The pub itself is lovely and cozy, with a good-sized beer garden which would be great in warmer weather. The little resident dog was also a lovely bonus and definitely one of the highlights of our visit! It may simply have been an off day, but based on our experience, I don’t think we’ll be rushing back for Sunday lunch.
