Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I usually avoid coming to this Greggs in the morning because, unfortunately, I’ve had several bad experiences with the staff, particularly the guy who works the morning shift.
There is a complete lack of hospitality or willingness to help. For example, today I bought a chicken steak and a juice. I paid for the steak but completely forgot to mention the drink. The moment I realised, I told him I’d also like the juice. It would have taken literally 2 seconds to add it to the purchase, but instead he started grumbling, shaking his head and clearly showing his frustration. The place wasn’t even busy.
This isn’t an isolated incident either. I’ve had several similar experiences in the past, and it’s incredibly disappointing to feel that customers are being treated this way.
What’s even more frustrating is that it seems like nothing changes despite people raising complaints. Staff represent the business, and customers shouldn’t have to deal with someone’s negative attitude simply because they’re doing their job.
If you don’t enjoy working with customers, then customer service probably isn’t the right job. There’s no excuse for taking your frustration or bad attitude out on customers.
Really disappointing experience from a place that should be providing basic courtesy and customer service.

Bad customer service, no hygenie as well i walked in literally the guy name Corbell was mopping the floor didn't wash his hand nothing and as soon i started to place my order rudely saying "Speak what do you want", honestly couldn't expect this kind of people to be working such place if you are not happy go get something that makes you happy rather being rude...... Management really need to give more training to the staff how to be professional to customer and specially to be more Hygenie. If i could rate this place Zero i would definitely rate it. Worst Greggs

Went into Greggs because I was hungry. I got a sandwich that specifically said hot and tasty. Went up to the counter to pay and guy serving me didn’t ask me if I wanted it toasted or not. Mind you every time I go to this specific Greggs everyone has asked me if I wanted it toasted or not, and yet he COULDNT and this is the second time I experienced this. I then asked another guy if I could get it toasted. When it was finished the original guy said “ you should know what you want”. I said “you should’ve asked”. I COULDNT hear him clearly but he said something on the line of” Get out of here with you should’ve asked”. Like yeah let me get a sandwich with the package saying “hot and tasty” and want it cold and stale.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
