The usual supermarket checkouts queues. Pushing people to go to self checkouts instead of employing people

It’s too cold in Tesco Osterley. Not a comfortable shop. You just have to quickly go in and buy what you want. Don’t feel like browsing at all as it’s freezing in there.

Very disappointing experience with Tesco today. My daughter stopped at the store on her way home from school because she needed to buy a pair of socks. She was refused access to the second floor by a member of staff and was told that she had to buy socks together with a parent. I would really like to understand what kind of policy this is. Socks are an ordinary, non-age-restricted item, so why was my daughter not allowed to go upstairs and purchase them independently? If Tesco has introduced a new policy regarding children shopping independently, customers should be clearly informed about it. I have contacted Tesco Customer Service and asked them to clarify whether this is an official Tesco policy or simply a decision made by this particular store. At this point, I am extremely disappointed with how the situation was handled.

Really good Tesco Extra with a huge range of products and plenty of choice. The store is spacious, well organised and generally well stocked, and there’s plenty of parking which makes shopping here convenient. Staff have always been friendly and helpful whenever I’ve needed anything, and checkout is usually straightforward. One of the better Tesco stores in the area.

Huge supermarket, massive selection… so naturally, the logical thing is to have about 3 cashiers open out of 20 tills. “Every little helps” — judging by the service, they certainly need it. 😂 If the staff and service in this shop went any slower, they’d be going backwards. Forget Back to the Future — this is Back to the Stone Age. Plenty of tills, plenty of staff… just apparently no urgency whatsoever.
