I think Tesco seriously needs to retrain the employees at this store on what the “Think 25” policy actually means. My understanding is that staff are supposed to ask for ID when they believe a customer looks under 25—not automatically treat every customer like an ID-checking exercise with absolutely no common sense involved. I completely understand and respect the importance of age-restricted sales and why the policy exists. But today’s experience made me wonder whether the training consists of nothing more than: “Customer buying restricted item? Activate robot mode. Ask for ID. No thinking required.” At this point, perhaps Tesco should consider renaming Think 25 to “Don’t Think, Just Ask Everyone 25.” It would certainly be a more accurate description of the experience. Policies are there for a reason, but so is basic judgement. If employees are expected to “Think 25,” the word think should probably play at least some part in the process. A little more training on how the policy is actually intended to work would go a long way, because customers shouldn’t be made to feel unnecessarily awkward simply because staff are following a policy like bots reading from a script. Very disappointing experience. I expected better from Tesco.

Can't say it as a superstore as many of the items were not available. But the staffs are polite and very helpful.

Astonishingly poor service, Surji kept us waiting over 10mins in checkout assistance said she was coming over but never did. Spoke to her about it, she claimed helping other customers, store needs to look at this. Today we are extremely disappointed long term customer of this Tesco store.
