Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
⭐ 1-Star Review
Very disappointing experience at Greggs. I ordered a Strawberry Mocha Latte and Vanilla Mocha Latte—both tasted bland, like plain milk with hardly any flavour. The staff behaviour was also rude and unprofessional. Poor drinks and poor customer service. Definitely expected much better from Greggs.

Amazing staff, friendly and polite as always! Great service and great food! Highly recommended, as it is very clean and maintained. The staff work very hard here and I’ve never had a poor experience.

Absolutely deviated, I ordered a latte and the man serving starting to make a ice latte. I asked the gentlemen is that my drink in which he replied yes and I said that was not what I asked for. I did ask for a large latte and to which the gentleman replied that’s what I asked you in such a way I removed myself from the business, never have I need treated like that at a Greggs in my life

I wouldn't even give this branch one star, and that's entirely because of the shift manager, Sabrina.
I visited today after a long day at work to grab a snack. There were still chairs out, and several customers were seated, so I assumed eating in was still allowed. Before ordering, I asked the member of staff at the counter what time they closed, and she told me 7:00 pm. Since there were still around 40 minutes until closing, I bought my food and sat down to eat.
As soon as I started eating, Sabrina approached me in a very rude and confrontational manner and told me that I couldn't eat there because the seating area was closed. I explained that nobody had informed me of any "no eat-in" policy when I purchased my food. Had I been told beforehand, I would have happily taken my food elsewhere.
Although I agreed to stop eating, I politely said I would like to remain seated for a short while, as the branch was still open for another 40 minutes. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Sabrina continued to argue with me. Other customers nearby even commented on how rude she was being and said she could have simply allowed me to finish my food.
The entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It wasn't the policy that upset me—it was the way I was spoken to and treated. Customer service costs nothing, and a little courtesy and respect would have made all the difference.
Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this branch, and I intend to raise this matter with head office

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
