I was waiting in the queue and the manager at the till said “next please” so I went up, then was waiting for her as she started having a word with her colleague about filling up the self service area. I’m standing right in front of her and then she looks up, sighs and says “who’s next”. No smile or eye contact. I did place my order- I received my bakery item but was waiting around for my latte. I can see the latte is done but she’s busy serving other customers now so I just asked another staff member for my latte who gave it to me. Honestly, kindness is free.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
