Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I just wanted to share some truly wonderful feedback about Praneetha, the Shift Manager at your store located at 9 Chancery Ln, High Holborn, London WC1V 6DR.I received some of the best customer service I have ever experienced at Greggs. Praneetha served me with such a warm smile and a genuinely positive, upbeat attitude that it really made my day.She also went above and beyond by cleaning the table for me and then personally bringing over my steak bake once it was heated, even calling me to let me know it was ready. That level of care and attention is rare and very much appreciated.Praneetha is a real credit to your team and represents the store brilliantly. Please do pass on my thanks to her.

The staff here are generally very nice and friendly, and even after moving to the new location there are still a few employees who work at lightning speed. Unfortunately, the overall service isn’t quite as fast as it used to be.
During busy mornings, the queue can get seriously long. There’s one middle aged female staff member who wears a headscarf who seems to operate in a completely different time zone from the rest of the team. While her coworkers are moving like it’s the morning rush hour Olympics, she’s calmly taking the scenic route through her tasks.
A few times I’ve walked in, seen the queue, noticed she was on shift, and just quietly turned around and left. No drama, just accepted my fate and went elsewhere. I honestly feel for her coworkers, because they’re clearly working at full speed while the line behind them starts looking like a theme park ride.
The team is lovely overall, but I hope management can look into the morning setup so the service can get back to its old, speedy self.
Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.
What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
