About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I purchased a caramel shortbread and several other items On 27th of June . Upon returning home, I discovered that the caramel shortbread had a best-before date of June 26 th, indicating it was past its expiration. This is ridiculous that this Greggs selling expired products. This situation is highly concerning and reflects poorly on Greggs' inventory management and quality control processes. Customers should have confidence that the products they purchase are within their valid shelf life. I trust that the store will implement improved inventory management procedures to prevent such incidents in the future.

Suddenly we were asked to pay service charge of £1.30 where no one was seated at all. The lady had the audacity to say that people need to sit down dismissing the fact that we are of these people and based by evidence there was not, as mentioned earlier, anyone seated. This isn’t the first time we are greeted with such rude and dismissive behaviour. No smiles, no warmth, no hospitality. Those who are reading this, you have been warned. Avoid this place. Highly disappointed in such vile and vulgar behaviour from them.

Very poor customer service from the lady behind the till called Chi. Was to busy talking to her friend to look at me. She was miserable and took over 2min to give me my 50p change as she was to busy talking to her friend bad customer service. That's why I give 1 star.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
