Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Had one of the worst customer experiences yesterday.
Their shift manager (not going to say her name) saw me waiting in line and then proceeds to serve the customer who came in after me.
I had to call out the audacity of this woman and put her in her place.

Absolutely horrible customer service. All the staff members including the manager’s behaviour is appalling.
Tried scanning my Greggs loyalty card (as I was waiting for the app to redownload, I showed a screenshot to make it faster- completely fine if it didn’t work I wasn’t fussed at all; it was a quick in and out I wanted to pay and leave asap, if a screenshot is not valid/ does not work IT’S FINE just tell me that and move on- as I did not know, and let me pay.) I’m here trying to pay, my apple pay is out, I keep telling them, more people are now coming in as well. The whole staff and manager start shouting at me non-stop, despite me apologising (not sure why I apologised, I just wanted to pay and get out; was so close to leave without the food but why would I do that). Absolutely appalling, no decency or basic manners; 0 customer service.

I visited Greggs and was extremely disappointed with the customer service I received from staff member name 'Rajinder Kaur'.
Rajinder kaur on duty was very slow and appeared uninterested in serving customers promptly, which made the queue move painfully slowly. On top of that, their behaviour felt unprofessional - there was a lack of attention to customers and a dismissive attitude,
which gave the impression of laziness rather than care for patrons. Reports on general service quality at Greggs also include customers finding staff rude, slow, and inattentive in various branches.
Trustpilot
This experience made what should have been a quick stop into a frustrating visit. I hope management addresses these issues so customer service improves.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
