  My husband, my son, and I entered the store around 15–20 minutes before the advertised closing time of 12:00 a.m. We were doing our grocery shopping, including buying milk and snacks for our son. At no point was there any announcement over the speaker system advising customers that the store was about to close or asking us to make our way to the tills. In most supermarkets, customers are given a 5- or 10-minute warning so they have the opportunity to finish shopping and pay. Instead, an employee approached us and told us to stop shopping immediately because the store was closed. We were not given the opportunity to pay for the groceries we had already collected. We had to leave our entire trolley behind and leave the store empty-handed. What made the experience even worse was the behaviour of the security guard, who was very rude and disrespectful towards us throughout the situation. We left feeling violated, upset, and stressed. The most frustrating part was that we were unable to buy our son’s milk for the night, and this was our only option because it was the only store still open at that time. I completely understand that staff need to close the store on time, but customers who enter before closing should at least be given a fair chance to pay for the items they have already picked up. Better communication and more respectful treatment would have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, this experience has left us very disappointed, and I hope the store reviews its closing procedures and customer service.

  Very disappointing -10⭐customer service experience. I purchased a garlic cheese bread that was displayed next to a very similar product that was on a Clubcard promotion. The packaging looked extremely similar, and the discounted and non-discounted products were displayed side by side with no physical gap between them, making it very easy for customers to pick up the wrong item without realising it. As a result, I genuinely believed I was picking up the discounted item. When I got home and checked my receipt, I realised I had been charged the full price because I had unknowingly picked up the non-discounted version. I returned to the store a few hours later to request a refund, explaining what had happened. I was told that because it was a fresh product, refunds were only possible within 20 minutes of purchase. What made the situation worse was that there was no clear warning or explanation of this policy in-store. Rather than showing any understanding, one member of staff was rude and spoke to me as though I should have known this policy already. I asked to speak to the manager and suggested that the display should be improved so other customers would not make the same mistake. Instead of acknowledging my concerns or offering an apology, the manager simply defended the display and the staff's behaviour. The issue was never really about the money. It was about a misleading display, a lack of transparency regarding the refund policy, and the complete absence of customer care when I raised a genuine concern. I left feeling dismissed and with the impression that preventing similar mistakes for other customers was not a priority. What is most upsetting is that this experience has stayed with me long after leaving the store. I still find the way I was treated offensive and extremely frustrating. The whole situation has bothered me so much because I cannot shake the feeling that I was deceived by the way the products were displayed. A simple apology and a willingness to listen would have made a huge difference, but instead I was made to feel like my concerns did not matter at all.
