About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I would like to express my deep dissatisfaction with this establishment. The place is unhygienic and the service is poor. I was treated with arrogance and rudeness by the staff (as shown in the attached photo). Unfortunately, this place does not respect its customers.

Very busy store, selling the usual, not very healthy, but quite tasty snacks.

Waste of time, I get half an hour break from work and it will take you about an hour to get served

Walked in and was queuing for 5 mins. Only one girl serving who was very slow. Picked up hash browns which felt rock hard so I put them back. No music playing in background.

All I ordered was a pizza it was decent, however I witnessed aggression to another customer infront of me , who tried to buy “halal” food and the cashier who looks about over 50 , blonde hair and blue eyes with wrinkles , she proceeds to have a nervous manic episode over the term halal , “Greggs don’t do HALAL!.” Then she proceeds to have a heavily disgusted expression on her face towards this helpless man who just wanted a halal meat substitute. He ended up buying a vegan sausage roll, realistically I don’t believe this woman has any iota of professionalism within her, to see this really disgusted me, as I know locals have also had experiences not far from this encounter with this exact women all the time, ignorant people like this make me have no faith in humanity , Greggs please fix this woman .

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
