  I’ve lived near this Coop for over a year now and it’s held up decently until a few months ago when everything started to decline in quality. First things first. There are a couple of staff members (the security guard is brilliant) that are typically helpful and kind but there are mostly others that clearly don’t care about their job and it shows- one worker is talking to himself all the time about his personal life- another worker will stock the shelves and be in your way and won’t move nor apologise about it- and another worker will overcharge you if you have him checkout your items. Second. No matter how often you see them stock up their goods, it always seems like the store has been ravaged by a wild animal. The shelves are a mess and half empty, nothing is where is should be and good luck finding what you need- a 1 minute shop turned into a 10 minute shop. Third. I don’t know what has happened in the past week, but the entire store smells like horse manure. ESPECIALLY the milk fridge. Today it managed to develop the smell of urine too which I find to be quite impressive actually - smells more akin to a stable than a dairy aisle. Finally, I caught staff recently handing out freebies to customers that would speak Hindi to the employees of the store. Yes that’s right - a customer came in chatting to the workers and was handed a Pain au Chocolat which is £1.25 each OR 75p after 6pm (I think?) handed away for free. I would like one for free too please if that’s possible. There’s general favouritism over Hindi speaking customers, which I find to be quite interesting. To conclude, if you really must come to the London Road Co-op and can’t go to any nearby corner stores or the Sainsbury’s or the Co-op on Downham Way, just make sure you bring a gas mask with you and make sure you speak Hindi.

  The milk shelves are full of mould, that's why it smells like that. It's been mouldy for weeks

  Amazing security guard but not the best staff, waited 10 minutes just to buy a drink..everything is unorganized and messy and will find opened items.Bought a Carton of milk and realized it was expired and had lumps..overall it’s not that good.

  Not enough staff. Those who are there are helpful but on a Sunday night, 2 blokes who have to stock shelves and deal with delivery nonsense cannot serve and deal with the self serve on their own. Clear management issues here.
