Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. - VCV C3 days ago1.0Horrified at the state of the two bacon baguettes I’ve just wasted my money on they will be going directly in the bin the lady who served me was slightly abrupt and has given me food that I have had to throw in the bin. Don’t waste your money the staff do not care it would probably make you ill if you ate it. The bacon is green and I’ve just realised the latte is normal coffee. Shocking

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
