Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
I have been a customer for many years and I really enjoy visiting this store. The food is always good, the prices are reasonable and the staff are generally very friendly.
However, I would like to mention a small issue that happened during my recent visit. I ordered two meal deals, and my understanding was that the coffee should have been included as part of the offer. Unfortunately, I was also charged separately for the coffee.
I believe this was simply a misunderstanding, as the member of staff may not have heard my order correctly. I have no complaints about the staff member personally, but I wanted to mention it so that similar situations can be avoided in the future.
Overall, I still enjoy coming here and will continue to be a regular customer.
Thank you.

I’ve been a regular customer at Greggs for a long time and I usually enjoy coming here every week. I don’t normally leave complaints, but this has happened more than once now.
I ordered a cappuccino and the cup was only half filled. I also asked for chocolate powder on top, but it was missed. When I went back politely to ask, the response from the staff felt a bit arrogant rather than helpful.
As customers, we are paying for the service and just expect the order to be prepared properly and handled politely. I still like Greggs overall, but I hope customer service and consistency improve at this barking branch.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
