No offer of desserts or further drinks. Clearing empty plates very quickly. Not much conversation. They were very busy but I thought the service was a bit "off"

Was told no delay with food when ordered, along with another customer, who ended up waiting over an hour for his food! Chased them twice, to be told now a 45 minute wait for food, as were now busier than when I ordered. An hour later, member of staff came out and told us, the food we had ordered was no longer available!😤😤 Totally unacceptable after waiting an hour. So, unable to comment on food, as we didn't get any! Asked for refund for the food, which was given and we left, very disappointed. Needless to say, we won't be going back. Looking at other feedback from 2 to 3 months plus, nothing seems to have improved. 👎👎
- EPElaine ParrottJul 27, 20264.0We visited on Monday and ordered 2 meals, the pie and hunters chicken. We had asked the waitress what the pie of the day was and she told us it was steak and ale. The meal was lovely and very tasty. On checking bill again we noticed we had been charged 2 pound more than was on the menu price. On asking why this was, we were told that the pie was 2 pound more than on the menu as it did say ' pies from.' We didn't notice this when choosing our meals but both the waitress or the bar staff member who took the order never mentioned the price was more. Another customer asked about the pie and she wasn't told either. This should really be conveyed to customers when they are ordering or put on the menu in a better way.
