Very nice, unfortunately the menu was very limited due to closing tomorrow for a refit (we did pop in unannounced mind you). Overall pretty good, calm friendly atmosphere.

Recommended by a friendly local we met, on our first visit to Lincoln. On the day, only one person serving! What a star he was! He kept pace with everything, and was as pleasant as can be. Good beer, great food and a fantastic atmosphere. I would heartily recommend this lovely old pub. Thanks for a great time!

This visit was for a birthday celebration & there was a group of about 40. We had pre-ordered food so I expected it to be well organised & that food would be brought out in a timely manner. The room we were in was upstairs & no effort had been made to ensure that the whole group could interact, there were 2 long tables either side of the room that filled up first & then smaller tables of 4 or 6 people meaning it was very disjointed. The table was booked for 6.30 p.m. but the first starters didn't arrive for about 45 mins & then intermittently. There was about another hour before the mains started arriving, I was the first to get my food, fish pie which I feel was overpriced at £17.50. I expected it to be full of fish & succulent prawns as described but it was volcanic hot like it had been microwaved, there was very little fish & it took me a while to realise that the White & yellow blob on the top was a poached egg, it was so overcooked, the tenderstem broccoli was undercooked & tasted quite bitter. As it took so long for the next meals to come out I started my food & had finished long before my colleague got her meal, by this time it was after 9 p.m. & some of the party had started to leave. I hadn't ordered a dessert luckily as it took another half hour for these to start coming out even though a few were still eating their main course. Very disappointing & I'm afraid I will not be going back here for food again. On the plus side the lady who was the evening entertainment had a great voice & despite no one being in the room, carried on singing.

Unfortunately totally underwhelmed we had no confirmation of our booking. Over half the mains were off when we came to order and when we orders pudding it arrived cold and then just our I. The microwave to heat it up. Very very disappointed
