About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I bought 4 yum yums for 80p! I didn't expect it to be so much cheaper compared to a nornal greggs. The atmosphere looked way different to an average greggs shop, but the sweet treats still hit the same. Only problem is that the hot drinks weren't the best, yet not the worst. Other than that, service was great and i hope areas like these always exist near me. Would most certainly go again.

It's not aIlways open and there was a not with a silly message about being short staffed but you get insurance and whenever you are short wyoy get someone in with the insurance money it's what most people do common sense bet as its half price food their pocketing the money saving it. No seating area its too small no potatoes wedges etc. Food run's out fast could order more but their not using their brain. I live locally but not in Chapeltown so when I am visiting other shops and or going to the Mosque I pop in now and then. I think the food has to be eaten on the day that's why it's not Greegs but Greegs Outlet. Good prices friendly customer service from the staff. I like the yum yums and the Egg mayo or whatever it is is nice. My mum is a fan of the glazed ring donuts 🍩. Well done and keep up the good work. By the way I seen it closed around 3 or 4 pm might of run out of food not sure. Great addition to Chapeltown! 🍩😊👍

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
