This is my local shop but there is Always charity workers in the entrance now , . Not sure why this is allowed in 2026 . I was going to donate a few quid and guy tried to set me up a £15 a month direct debit and had to pay first one right that moment . So I just said I’m leaving .
I don’t mind them on the streets asking as that’s in the public and there is loads of space to walk past them but a shop shouldn’t be letting their customers get harassed by companies who take 3/4 of the money . Unless co op is also in the long queue of people who take the charity money ?
In 2026 with all the social media or could go round with leaflets through doors you don’t need to pester people in shops who just want a pint of milk. Will have to walk up in to town in future

The shop itself is fine and staff are helpful. The problem is that there are usually some undesirable characters hanging around outside which can be intimidating. That's not the fault of the shop though.

I am a regular here and today we shopped and as usual scanned my membership card. The self check out kiosk popped ‘member not allowed’ and I tried it 2 more times. At this point it said assistant is on their way obi to HELP!!! So this very rude person -Amelia , walks up and straight way goes with a ride tone , oh I can’t do anything about it , it’s just that. And walked away??? I have worked before for co op and in the same job as she is. The level of service we provided is far from what she just did. So I went upto the main till to check if member card works there. She scanned all items and said ya it’s the same again with a rude tone. And that’s it!! She did not bother to help me out by telling what I can do next or by giving me another membership card or anything at all. I do not think this is the level of customer service offered by co op. If these girls I’m this store are not happy with what they are doing, they really need to hand in notice for good. And please behave as humans first and respect others.
