We stayed at the adjoined premier in. On the Friday evening we called in before going for a meal. We were very quickly told they were only serving hotel guests. The restaurant was empty. We had a drink and decided to go elsewhere. While we were there a group of four were turned away for food because they were not hotel guests.
We returned at 10pm to be told the bar was shut. All the lights were on, the doors were open but the staff were sat round the tv watching football.
The next morning we went for breakfast. We thought it would be the usual buffet but we had to order our food to be cooked fresh.
There was only one waitress who was doing her best to clear and clean tables, restock the continental breakfast buffet items, take orders for food and bring the plates to the tables.
Not once did i see her wash her hands.
The food was nice but we were unable to order more hot food as the waitress was so busy and it took a long time for the food to arrive.

21/06/2026 Totally ruined Father's Day breakfast.........
The behaviour of the manager, was not only entirely unacceptable and offensive, but it also demonstrated a severe lack of basic empathy and a failure to accommodate a guest with a disability.
I arrived ahead of my family and seated myself at a table configured for four people, anticipating their arrival.
When my disabled daughter and my granddaughter arrived, a member of the team seated them at a completely different table, rather than directing them to join me.
Upon realising we had been separated, I stood up to relocate to their table so we could dine together. At this point, the manager, Steve, intervened. He aggressively refused to allow me to move tables to join my family.
I explicitly explained to the manager that my daughter is disabled and requires my direct assistance during meals. He completely dismissed this vital information, ignored our needs, and rigidly refused to accommodate a simple and reasonable request for a family to sit together.
To our absolute horror, I later discovered that the manager had threatened to involve the police. This reaction to a customer simply attempting to sit with their disabled daughter is a gross abuse of authority and entirely disproportionate.
As a result of the manager’s hostile attitude and unprofessional conduct, my family’s breakfast was entirely ruined, and we left feeling humiliated and unwelcome. Treating a paying guest with such hostility—and ignoring the needs of a disabled individual—is a clear breach of acceptable customer service standards and potentially violates equality and accessibility guidelines.
I have requested that this matter be escalated to senior management immediately.
I expect them to formally investigate into the conduct of the manager, regarding his offensive attitude and handling of this situation. Also, clarification on the restaurant's policy regarding accommodating guests with disabilities and their carers.
Until this manager is removed, I DO NOT recommend going to this particular restaurant.
Unable to give zero stars
I just want to thank staff member called Will for his excellent customer service.
It is the first time I have been to Halifax and had a meal in this Beefeater.
Will, gave me a warm welcome and I felt comfortable to sit and have a lovely meal.
The food was well presented,my choices were acknowledged and I am pleased and highly recommend.

Disappointed as the openings hours showed till 11:00 on a bank holiday for breakfast. We tuned up at 10:10 to be turned away after driving over half an our. As they were ‘running out of food’.
Maybe worth calling in advance.
