  First time here friendly atmosphere. Alfie was brilliant that served us . The food was lovely and really tasty Was expecting just pub grub . But no was beautiful and very well priced definitely came again

  Had the trio of meats Sunday dinner, it was so good especially the huge Yorkshire pudding and the meat was cooked perfect. Compliments to the cook! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our visit very much, highly recommend!

  Just read a review by Lynn Starr, I actually witnessed this drug addict verbally attacking a young lady, then another stranger asked her was she ok. He then threatened the total stranger to "come outside with your gang" sadly the landlord who witnessed this did nothing. So if he prefers clientele who threaten normal people for nothing, that proves he is not in charge of the pub. He was playing pool most of the night, by his appearance and staring eye's he was obviously high on something stronger than carling. Until he gets rid of the riff-raff sadly I won't be going there again. Besides that the place was much improved plus the beer prices are now reasonably priced. Cmon Sir, sort these clowns out, or you WILL fail.

  Can't comment on the food as I didn't eat. Service was shocking, numerous people walking up to the bar and getting served before me after I had waited for those in the queue before me to get served. After being ignored twice, I interrupted the barman who I think may have been the landlord to tell him I was next. I also informed the person who had gazzumped me that it was my turn. I was then set upon by a raging lunatic of a local who was clearly off his trolley on drugs. This person was shouting and balling obscenities in my face that the man I had informed of my position in the queue was disabled. Whilst I appreciate some disabilities are hidden, I was not to know the man I had interrupted was disabled and that doesn't make it ok for the bar staff to knowingly ignore customers who have duly waited their turn. Despite my defending my position, the abusive, angry man would not let it go, he was in my face, shouting and swearing, telling me to go and get "my boys" and citing another customer who had asked if I was ok to "get outside". The whole situation was unnecessary and I felt very intimidated to the point I thought I was going to be attacked. Although the barman witnessed everything, he did absolutely nothing to intervene or attempt to calm the situation. It was very clear who was running the pub and it wasn't the bar staff. Unless you like being ignored and threatened by the "yocals" I wouldn't bother. Weak management.

  We have just been for lunch here. The welcome from the bar staff was warm and friendly even showed us to the dog treats and water bowls for our dog . However after ordering our food we waited an hour for it to arrive . Now let's just say it wasn't very busy say about 4 tables eating . When I eventually got up to ask how much longer the food would be the girl just laughed and and I'll go check . She then came back and the excuse was the chef had a few orders all at the same time and it wouldn't be long ( god help them if they were actually busy ), when the food arrived one being a salad it was floating in water. The steak dipper ( slimey and tough )and chips (undercooked and cold ) . The third meal we ordered (the chicken feast ) came a few minutes after the other meals but was hot and edible. I honestly wouldn't visit again for food
