About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Keep confusing my elderly mother, everytime she goes in they tell her to get more 'as its free' so she agrees not realising shes paying more

3 stars overall because it is a small Greggs with indoor seating for only 6 people. Otherwise exactly what you expect from Greggs - decent food at a sensible price

Ordered through Just Eat. One of their staff called to ask if they could swap the cheese and ham toasties for baguettes as they'd run out. Then they sent the wrong drinks and the wrong bakes. Seriously, how difficult is it to read an order? Please employ some competent staff. Its working in Gregg's not rocket science.

Been here a few times, as I pass through with work. Love Greggs, food is standard throughout… but my god this Branch is painful! Robert the “Manager” has got to be the most miserable person this side of the Ice age… Not only do they open 5 mins late so he could carefully re-arrange the donut selection 36 times, no apology, everything is too much effort. Not a smile to be seen. “I’ll just see if there’s a baguette in the back” 3 mins later, returns with a frown and a dusty baguette. Worryingly this guy is a manager, I hope the other shop staff don’t think this is a great example of how to speak to customers. Do yourself a favour Greggs, either get him on a “Happy Course” or move him to washing Dishes so he doesn’t bring my Day down.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
