About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

After 6pm pasties are always stone cold . I come every wed and Thur at 6pm. Though it shuts at 7 the seating area shuts at 6.15 so they can clean. I only gave it 3 stars because the Staff are lovely .

This store is the newest in Preston, Lancashire and is always bustling. The prices are very reasonable compared to its next door neighour - Costa coffee. Service is good and food is very quickly replenished and fresh. There is both outdoor and indoor seating, also toilet facilities. Worth noting it is NOT a drive through, although I have seen people suggesting that it is. **A couple of notes for high management - please provide SOYA milk** - not everyone is tolerant of dairy. Costa do this and it's free! ** Also the shop radio/music is often turned up so high! Sometimes it's near impossible to hold a conversation. The counter staff even struggle to hear when taking orders. Another time I went in, the radio was background music only - it was so much better for everyone alike. Please do something about the levels, I am reluctant to go back in and I'm sure I will not be the only one**

Got to be the slowest Gregs around. Been in a few times and the service is just so slow, only one person serving and working extremely slow, this isn't just once but every time.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
