Popped in for a quick stop, but it ended up being anything but quick. From joining the queue to finally receiving our order, it was over 10 minutes — and all we’d ordered was two lattes, a bottle of Coke Zero, and three cookies. For such a small order, that wait time really isn’t impressive. Queueing was its own adventure. Some customers clearly hadn’t grasped the concept, and the person ahead of us paid in loose change. The till displayed the total, but the server still seemed completely flummoxed trying to work out whether the coins added up. You’d hope basic mental arithmetic would be part of the job. The overall atmosphere didn’t help. With a constant stream of Just Eat and Deliveroo orders coming through, machines buzzing and beeping, it felt more like a medical ward than a sandwich shop. Given it took 10 minutes to prepare a couple of drinks and cookies, confidence in their ability to handle the rush wasn’t high. Not the worst experience, but definitely not the smoothest. A bit more organisation — and a bit less chaos — would go a long way.
