I arrived exhausted at around 9.30pm just as the bar staff were hooovering up, but I was welcomed with enormous hospitality and warmth. The publicans stayed open for hours and we chatted whilst I munched on crisps and had a couple of glasses of wine. They kindly allowed me to stay in the car park in my van overnight. As a woman travelling alone in my 50s I must say that I was bowled over by the warmth and hospitality offered by these two lovely partners and wish them every success. My partner and I look forward to eating there and carrying on the chat when we are next in the area. Must say I was exceptionally impressed by the incredible list of fine wines. The next morning, after a fantastic sleep I saw the children’s play area! Wow! Diggers, climbing, a real area for the imagination and fun. If I had children or grandchildren, I know they would LOVE it here! As for me, I could not have wished for a more warm and professional bit of Northern hospitality. Thank you so much!

Have been 4 times in the last few months and it has always been a fantastic experience. The vegan beetroot burger is divine. The portions are decent for the price. There is a lovely outdoor seating area.

What a fantastic lunch we had on Saturday afternoon. The staff are friendly and professional. We had a drink in the bar while looking at the menus. We were offered a table in the restaurant but decided to stay where we were to eat. The service was just right, attentive and friendly. The smoked salmon pate starter was delicious. In fact all of the food was very tasty. I had the lunch size sea bass which was just right after the starter. It was lovely and my wife raved about her steak sandwich. All the food was fantastic and some lovely rose wine too. A lovely chilled afternoon and we will definitely be back 😊

First time we have been here, usually like to try new places every month. It has a nice atmosphere, the staff were lovely, polite and helpful. The food was great and we did not have to wait for long for it to arrive. This is going onto our return list, will definitely be back.
