  Moored up at the top of Royal Hotel - be rude not to have sampled their wares! Good food, dog friendly - plenty of water bowls out on hot day. Lovely beer garden with lots of shade/parasols - perfect for a sunny afternoon lunch!

  My pet peeve is places like this asking for a tip, yet they cant be bothered to earn it! Maybe I wouldn't be leaving this review if a member of staff came to ask if I was enjoying my breakfast, which i wasn't! Who wants burnt bacon and burnt sausage for breakfast? The bacon was burnt black in places ruining the taste and smell of the bacon. It felt like it had been cooked on a bbq. The clever 'chef' turned the burnt side of the sausage face down,l on the plate, thinking I wouldn't notice, but thats one of the oldest tricks in the book. Thankfully, ive worked in this industry for many years....when we actually earned our tips, so that didn't slide past me. I mentioned it at the bar when paying and the member of staff just said she'd let the kitchen know. I deeply regret spending over £20 here to have to pick away all the burnt bits to just not eating the bacon at all. Having to give your name, address, phone number & email address just to use the Internet?? No thanks.

  Disappointing to be honest. Part of our order didn't materialise as they brought the wrong meal and by the time it did arrive the rest of our group had already finished eating. The calzoni was disgusting. They even brought drinks which we didn't order. Anyone who wants a drink or an edible meal you must avoid this Royal hotel.
