Arrived at 5pm for dinner while working away. When I walked in, there was no obvious sign of any staff, apart from one person serving behind the bar. There were two signs next to each other giving conflicting instructions. One said, “Wait here to be seated,” while the other said, “Find a seat and order at the bar.” After standing at the entrance for around five minutes without anyone approaching me, I decided to find a seat myself. I then wandered around trying to find a table near a power supply. There only appeared to be one option, but that table was directly under the air conditioning. Once I sat down, I realised there was no table service and no app ordering option, so I would have had to pack everything up again and queue at the bar to order. At that point, I gave up and went to the Hungry Horse about 10 minutes up the road, where the welcome and service were much better. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to try the food.

We come to the oakenhurst regularly always between 5 and 8 of us, we came today and im not sure what was going on but every single member of staff had a face on them, my grandad tried making a joke with one of them and her reply was well its sunday and huffed, thought ok no worries, went to make a brew there was no sugar i was then told theres a shortage at the suppliers if I didnt understand what that meant it meant they had none like I was a child. My grandad actually tried to complain but the woman said he was becoming aggressive he is not and was not aggressive in anyway what so ever which made him extremely uncomfortable, we paid for 3 brews and 2 re fillable cokes for the kids. Like I said we came here most Sundays and never have we been made to feel like we was today, nobody staff wise seemed happy to be there. I work in hospitality myself and it was absolutely disgusting if I was to treat customers in such a way id lose my job

Unbelievably rude manager on shift. We had booked a table online and we got the response "well I haven't checked the online bookings" and "I dont have a table ready." She then sent a staff member to put together tables that were all different sizes so didnt actually go together. I ordered some j2os for the kids but the bar staff forgot to shake it first so he proceeded to put his thumb on the opened bottle to shake it. 🤢 Food was luke warm at best. In hindsight we really should of walked back out and gone somewhere else but at least I know to never go here back again.
