  Had to drive to Asda for a box of 10 Estrella and they had none. Drove from Asda to Whiston Village Bargain Booze and grabbed my World Cup Bevies there! Why am I driving out of Prescot and not using Tesco? Because Tesco is charging £17.00 for a box of Estrella that is £13.00 in Asda and £13.99 in Bargain Booze. It is £14.00 in Morrison's. Tesco is holding on to land to stop competition super markets like Aldi or Lidl moving in. Problem is Tesco's are not price matching on products! Products going out of date the same day. get to the till and the products are more expensive than the listing price, even with the club card. Only two self serve tills take cash. Self serve staff do nothing but gab leaving you standing waiting until they notice you. Lazy female manager always hanging out by closed tills. Don't even get me started on the layout of the store... No upstairs. No clothes changing rooms. No Electrical or Gaming section. No Pizza counter. This store is a small shadow of it's former self !

  I’ve been using the Tesco Extra at Cables Retail Park in Prescot for quite a while now, and it’s pretty much the definition of a standard, mid-range hypermarket experience. It has almost everything you need under one roof, but it does come with a few of the typical big-supermarket headaches. ​The Positives First off, the sheer scale of the place is impressive. If you are doing a massive weekly shop, you are almost guaranteed to find what you are looking for. The fruit and veg section is usually well-stocked, and their world foods aisle has grown quite a bit recently, which is great. Because it’s an "Extra" store, the upstairs section is a massive bonus. The F&F clothing department is surprisingly good for picking up affordable basics, and the home and tech selection is handy if you need a quick toaster replacement or a last-minute birthday card. The staff, for the most part, are local and genuinely friendly, even when they are clearly under pressure. ​The Not-So-Positives However, there are definitely a few downsides. The single biggest issue with this Tesco isn’t actually inside the store—it’s the Cables Retail Park car park. Trying to get in and out on a Friday afternoon or a Saturday morning can be an absolute nightmare. Traffic frequently bottlenecks, and you can easily spend 15 minutes just trying to exit back onto Steley Way. ​Inside the store, inventory can be a bit hit-or-miss later in the evening. If you go after 7 PM, the shelves in the bakery and fresh meat sections can look pretty bare. Also, while they have plenty of self-checkout machines, they frequently close down the manned tills during peak hours, leading to massive queues of people trying to squeeze full trolleys through the self-scan lanes. ​Verdict Overall, it’s a perfectly fine, highly convenient supermarket that gets the job done. It won’t give you a luxury shopping experience, but for everyday essentials and great Clubcard deals, it does exactly what it says on the tin. Just try to avoid peak hours if you value your sanity in the car park!

  Massive tesco, everything you need in stock, really helpful staff, and I went for food and a coffee, the woman working the cafe alone one morning I went was fantastic. Such a nice human. Having her wish me well before my day really got started was perfect.
