It is our local and the children always choose McDonald’s if they are offered a take away option. Otherwise I would never visit this place. I cannot recall an order they have actually got correct. Regularly they pass my order with at least one item short. Today I was short a burger and they offered me 3 drinks after I reported missing an item.

FOOD POISONING INTENSE FROM TUESDAY 10:40 Store avoiding phone calls!!! VERY SICK FORMAL LEGAL COMPLAINT – FOOD SAFETY INCIDENT, ILLNESS, DISABILITY IMPACT, AND NOTICE OF ESCALATION To Whom It May Concern, This letter concerns a serious food safety incident originating from McDonald’s - Hastings and constitutes a formal legal complaint. Incident Summary On the night in question, I placed an order at approximately 10:40 pm for a Big Tasty. The order was collected by a delivery driver named Mathew. Upon receipt, the burger was structurally incomplete, containing no meat whatsoever, only fillings.I consumed the item because I had not eaten all day and relied on this food as my sole meal. Medical Impact and Public Health SignificanceShortly after consumption, I developed acute gastrointestinal symptoms, including persistent and uncontrollable diarrhoea, frequent urination, and severe dehydration. These symptoms are clinically consistent with food poisoning. This was not minor discomfort. It was a medical event carrying foreseeable risks of electrolyte imbalance, renal strain, collapse, and the need for medical intervention.Hydration Risk and Medical Urgency The absence of prior food intake, combined with continuous fluid loss, placed me at immediate risk of moderate to severe dehydration. This risk was foreseeable and preventable had proper food safety standards been applied. Disability Disclosure and Heightened Duty of Care I am autistic, which is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. Autism affects sensory processing, stress response, and physiological regulation. Sudden illness and dehydration therefore present a heightened medical and psychological risk. As a disabled consumer, I am entitled to equal treatment, reasonable adjustments, and safeguarding. Supplying unsafe or incomplete food that results in illness places me at a substantial disadvantage and constitutes a failure of duty. Safeguarding, Vulnerability, and Foreseeability At the time of consumption, I was physically vulnerable, having not eaten all day. This vulnerability is entirely foreseeable in a late-night food service context. Food providers are required to guard against foreseeable harm. Food Safety Failure and Quality Control Breakdown The absence of meat in a meat-based product represents a failure of final quality control checks. Such checks exist to prevent unsafe food reaching consumers. This indicates a breakdown in food safety systems, not a harmless mistake.Causation and Temporal Proximity The food was consumed shortly after delivery. Symptoms followed soon thereafter. There were no intervening meals and no alternative source of illness. This satisfies prima facie causation. Delivery Chain and Legal Responsibility Responsibility for food safety remains with the preparing restaurant, regardless of third-party delivery involvement. Traceability does not displace liability. Psychological Distress and Loss of DignifyIn addition to physical illness, this incident caused distress, anxiety, and loss of dignity, particularly given my autism and the destabilising effects of sudden illness and dehydration. Psychological harm is a recognised head of loss. Record Keeping and Evidence Preservation I am maintaining contemporaneous records of symptoms, dehydration, timings, and communications for medical, regulatory, and legal purposes. Schedule of Loss (Preliminary) Losses include: * Cost of the defective food item * Delivery charges * Hydration and recovery costs * Potential medical consultation costs * Time lost due to illness * Distress and loss of amenity This Schedule is preliminary. Compensation Position A refund alone is insufficient. The combination of food poisoning, medical risk, psychological distress, and disability-related impact justifies compensation beyond reimbursement. Regulatory Exposure and Pre-Action NoticeThis matter engages food safety law, consumer protection, equality legislation, and public health considerations. Compensation claim or head office !

Multiple times we go there or order through Deliveroo, and they always mess up. Either total wrong order, as today it happened. Huge waiting times. Stall chips. If you go to the store, you can see they always struggle clearly no one knows what they’re doing.
