  just a heads up to staff and management at this store, not having a single staff member in the store or on tills especially at night is unsafe and unprofessional, the lady who did eventually serve me once i rang a bell was lovely but i easily could of saved my money, took the things i wanted and left.

  Charlotte staff member extremely disappointing experience and rude I’m extremely disappointed with the way I was treated by a member of staff named Charlotte at my local Co-op. I live very locally and have been shopping at this Co-op regularly. It is my usual store, and I have previously brought my assistance dog in with me on multiple occasions. All of the other staff members have always been friendly, helpful and completely fine with my dog being in the store. This was the first issue I have ever experienced, and unfortunately it was with Charlotte. Charlotte refused to allow my assistance dog into the store and insisted that my dog needed to be wearing a particular lanyard/harness. I explained that she is my assistance dog and that I had my appropriate pass/proof with me. She continued to challenge me and became extremely rude, aggressive and confrontational, eventually telling me that I could not shop in the store. I was simply trying to buy my food and groceries from my local shop. I found the whole experience extremely upsetting and embarrassing. For clarity, an assistance dog in the UK is not legally required to wear a specific lanyard, jacket or harness in order for the relevant protections to apply. I had proof with me and tried to explain this. If Charlotte was unsure about the rules, she should have sought clarification from a manager rather than treating me in this manner and preventing me from shopping. I would like Co-op to investigate this incident, review any available CCTV and address the way I was treated. I would also like clarification on Co-op’s policy and staff training regarding assistance dogs and customers with disabilities. I have always had positive experiences with the other staff at this store, which makes this incident particularly disappointing. Charlotte’s behaviour was completely unacceptable and left me feeling extremely upset and discriminated against. I hope Co-op takes this complaint seriously and ensures this does not happen to another customer.

  They are meant to open at 7:00 but I'm going to stop bothering popping in on my way to work as they regularly dont open on time. The staff are in store but just seem to carry on with other tasks rather than open to customers. Today even the delivery driver was left waiting outside
