  Lovely staff friendly atmosphere we had a lovely evening xx we didn't eat so I can't comment on food but im sure it's equally lovely 💗

  Lovely pub, decent food and reasonably nice staff. However this is all massively let down by the unbelievable lack of professionalism of what I believe to be the management and then the extremely slow service and organisation. Genuinely terrible service and I would not recommend at all. Very sad as this is auck a lovely pub.

  We had a reservation for dinner on Saturday evening at 8pm and all seemed to be going well, starters came out and were lovely and well cooked. We were told at the beginning that there were about three items on the mains menu that were no longer available which was fine as they were luckily things we did not want. I had the sirloin steak which I asked for medium rare and it came out well done and pretty thin, no mushroom but it tasted nice and the beef dripping gravy was good. My daughter had the burger which said it came with cheese, bacon and burger sauce but it had no bacon or burger sauce in it and my boyfriend and his son had the Dirty Burger which was supposed to come with Mac & Cheese in it but neither had this. What we did get tasted ok but overall the mains just lacked a bit of care and attention. The restaurant area was not busy either, it was pretty quiet. When it came to dessert, we had all chosen what we wanted only to be told that we couldn't have anything warm as we had booked a late table and the kitchen was now closed. I think we should have been told at the time of booking or when we sat down that the kitchen would be closing and this would limit the dessert menu. I left feeling pretty disappointed overall, the starters gave a super impression but the mains fell short unfortunately and the killer was being told it was our fault for booking a late table. The waitress did ask us many many times if we were ok but we just wanted to have a nice catch up and it not be marred by complaining. We did not raise this with Woolpack on the night and recognise they did not get the opportunity to rectify these things at the time. We may give it another go soon as there's plenty of potential here and I'm always keen to support local non-chain venues.

  Had an amazing meal celebrating my daughter passing her driving test. The staff were lovely and helped us wind our daughter up. The menu selection is vast and all the food was fresh, hot and delicious. Can’t wait to go back

  Honest opinion of service for a function. We organised a wake - arrival was very slap dash, no manoeuvring of the tables etc. To make it look like the function was being taken care of, no one knew where to sit, etc. We went for the basic food package and received 12 total platters including primarily sandwiches, a couple of trays of pork pies and sausage rolls, two bowls of salad, veg bits and two bowls of chicken strips - this came to £900. Knowing how much it cost was quite sad, the food itself was nice but definitely feel the price takes advantage of the function especially for how little "service" there was with tables spilling with empty glassware and everything being quite disjointed. Overall, the food price was extortionate. I would return for the food with the hope for their chicken goujons to be there but would not organise another function there considering the service and pricing...
