About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

WARNING WARNING WARNING....... Poorest Management in any Gregg's I've ever been in, dirty premises, poor stock levels, coffee tastes like dish water, Used daily for 6 weeks now, they never have bacon at 10am wth? Hash browns are soggy and Luke warm. Back to the local cafe now. Support small local - boycott the multinationals.

The worst greggs I have ever been to , the manger is a horrible person who has no right to be in any job that deals with people , food always cold , the bread for the baguettes is mostly stale , and also the slowest serving greggs I have ever been to ! I put down to bad management

I don't write reviews often but the reviews for this Greggs, in my view, are unfair. And weirdly overly charged. It's a Greggs, the food tastes like Greggs food. I don't know why some reviewers expect anything but. The service is what gets me, they're always chirpy and bright, even at tradey hour when they're rushed off their feet. I think some other reviews are barmy. This Greggs is a stellar Greggs, if you like cheap pastries its got great service and good banter.

Hot food cabinet is always empty. Most of the time anyway. I wish Greggs can fill the sandwich filling evenly rather than just checking it in the middle for a 1 foot long baguette

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
