  We were dutifully looked after by Abbas today who was attentive and friendly, keeping us well informed of the unfortunately reduced, but still delicious menu. Wishing all the staff well as the Beefeater brand sadly disappears in the coming weeks. Can we squeeze in another visit before the bell tolls?! Probably…,

  I have visited The Beacon as a family for close to 20 years. This was a farewell meal and to see staff that have served us so well over the years. It was wonderful to see Becca and Liz as they were at work. Many beautiful memories of birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas celebrations. We will miss The Beacon and I pray God's blessings over the staff.

  Had a absolutely fantastic experience, Thank you to Abi and Alicia who made the evening meal, both made it a nice meal and was very attentive from making sure the food was good and asking if I needed another drink! Absolutely brilliant and the food was lovely

  Ordered and paid for our meal then realised a side was missing from the receipt. I questioned this and was told by another member of staff that was because it was unavailable yet I wasn't informed of this when I ordered. Food arrived the salmon came with 10 chips when it was advertised with crushed roast potatoes. This was questioned and we were told that's because there were no roast potatoes yet we weren't told this when ordering. A Mediterranean chicken salad was ordered and was missing the majority of the ingredients advertised on the menu. It was basically a side house salad with chicken. Questioned this and was again told that they didn't have the items advertised on the menu and it was taken away. The manager came over and as we'd paid £18.49 for a few leaves and strips of chicken the manager agreed to refund this. A house salad and chicken was requested and it must have been 30 minutes before this was bought and that was after being chased up. Other members of the family had finished their meals long before this. The manager was friendly and apologetic and offered a free drink and the replacement meal was free of charge. Another member of the bar staff was very friendly. However there are clearly problems as others were complaining and the manager told us he'd been there a week and had all sorts of problems to deal with. Shame as we've been at this Premier Inn/restaurant a few times over the years and it's always been good.
