  Bad experience in the Canterbury restaurant today, shame as they are normally very good. Ordered Duck soba and asked to swap to Udon noodles, seafood ramen for my daughter and a portion of kimchi. My duck had the soba noodles and not udon as requested, the Kimchi I had to ask for over halfway through my meal and the seafood ramen turned up after I’d finished my meal (which went cold as I ate it so slowly and even had several breaks from). I know the dishes come out at different times but this was unacceptably long as they had clearly forgotten to do it, lengthy review as I’ve had ten minutes while my daughter eats her meal. It wasn’t even busy either. It won’t deter me as I like Wagas, but a very bad showing today…

  Wagamama have recently scaled down their menu and a few of our favourite dishes are no longer available - really disappointing. However you can’t dispute the high quality and great flavours they serve. Would always recommend.

  I love Wagamama but the Canterbury experience was underwhelming. We were quickly seated which was great considering it was busy and we arrived without a booking. Food and drink orders were taken promptly. Our drinks arrived quickly but the two meals arrived with about 10 5-10 minutes between them. The katsu curry was superb as always and will always be one of my favourites. That was it after the second meal arrived in terms of any iteractions from staff. We would have ordered desert but no one came back. As customers left around us it became much quieter so it would have been obvious how long we'd been sitting there after finishing our main meals. After about 50 minutes of post-meal chatting and catching up, as it had been a while since we'd seen each other, we decided to pay and leave. Only after paying did a member of staff come to the table to remove our used plates and cutlery. They didn't speak to us or ask if we wanted anything extra. Very disappointing experience.

  Brisket ramen (spicy) and chicken ramen (mild) were delicious. One of the dishes delivered about 20 minutes after the other one (kitchen mix-up). Disappointing, but without me making a big deal, the manager realized what happened, came over and apologized, and comped the dish and one drink. Great recovery because the food was delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive.

  We love Wagamama and the lunch deal is a great option to get if you’re visiting Canterbury and want a quick lunch.
