This is no way a reflection on the staff or the food at all, however the self service kiosks are now the only way to order in store, you can't order talking to a human being. You dont see the food being prepared or allow for you to think i want to add this and that due to all the stickers on the refigeration units telling you to use the kiosks it like a barrier.
Having used this subway for 10 years I doubt I will use it and use the other one in canterbury or else where to use up my credit.
There is a reason why McDonolds, Argos and Ikea have not gone this far, so follow thier market research and make kiosks secondary and not the primary way of ordering.

I mean this is a good Subway in that you know the food standard you will be getting and it was okay cleanliness, but it definitely isn't is good Subway. I only saw two staff members who weren't engaging, even hand signalling a potential customer to use the interactive screens, leading her to walk out after using the screen a little bit. The tables were not clean, crumbs on table tops, even though it was very quiet. Was not explainwe to me that I need to collect my own drink when I collected my meal, as someone that doesn't go in shop for Subway this total threw me and by the time I worked it out my head wouldn't allow me to go up and get a drink that I'd paid for as it's awkward. Why aren't staff talking to customers? I'm also unhappy that there is no receipt given, another reason I felt I couldn't grab the drink as I had no proof, but also I swear I ordered not al chocolate cookies but received the triple chocolate ones, without a receipt I have nothing to confirm if I made a mistake or them, and I'm not someone to go up to the counter when there is a chance it's my mistake. Even if you want to go paper free, you could go like other chain restaurants that have a QR code after paying to show you your order. This one is a bit different, but is a tie wrapped around a good preparer and servers head acceptable? No hair net and just something that looks like a tie around his head. I personally found this setting a bit off. I normally get deliveries or very rarely go to the shop in Dover or Whitfield, both who have friendly staff and I've not had any issues with, but this shop is not to that standard. And I understand this might not be anyone's fault, but also no hot drinks available which was a bit annoying. Considering how quiet the store was, I never saw them come out from behind the counter to clean the customers area. All the client interaction was saying the order number then walking away. I also found their whole meal once toasted to be too crunchy and kept falling to crumbs, more like shattering which was strange.
One positive is that they followed substitutions very well though.

Every time an order came in a computer started honking till acknowledged. Kiosk ordering is not faster and ordering over counter is refused. Very unpleasant experience.

This place was very dirty. It was quiet but almost all tables were disgustingly and needed a clean. We ended up using a disinfecting hand wipe to clean our table before using it. There were at least 2 members of staff and very few customers, so no excuse not to clean at all. Sadly all orders must be done via the tablets and this completely takes the fun out of the Subway experience. Sadly an older man needed assistance which just proves there needs to be a fallback option. The food as always is good but this place really needs to massively improve.
