About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Got a steak bake from this Greggs and it was cold not even warm so went in for a new one and the “new one” “from the oven” was raw! Steak on the inside was still cold. Pastry was raw and stretchy. Honestly awful.

Popped in to grab some food. I was absolutely shocked and appalled to see how the staff members were talking to a young man who came in. They accused the poor lad of stealing when he quite obviously had nothing to do with it. There was another lad who walked in behind him and started helping himself to alot of food from the shelves and hot counter and then he left with it all. The accused just innocently went to pay for his own stuff when they angrily told him that he had to pay for the thieves food as well. He was clearly confused and distressed. He tried to tell them that he didn't know them and they quite frankly bullied him into paying. It was awful!! They even had a woman staff member behind him, blocking his exit! He clearly felt like he had to pay as they were going to call the Police and you could tell that he didn't want any trouble. He left looking really upset. The young lad came back after about 10 minutes. He had called the Police himself and they told him to ask for a refund. The staff were basically laughing at him and calling him a thief. As the young lad was still asking and pleading his innocence, the Police called him back. They had seen him on CCTV driving there alone and they demanded they refund him. The staff member said to the Police, "Ok, whatever!" None of the staff apologised to him and were still trying to argue with him. I have NEVER been so appalled by these staff members! They need to be re-trained or even sacked!! It was the absolute worse Customer Service I have ever witnessed and I certainly won't be going back to this branch! What a bunch of rude, bullies!! Disgraceful behaviour!!

Just bought a cup of coffee and a breakfast roll this morning from the Greggs opposite Asda. As the coffee cup lid was not stuck properly, it fell off inside my car creating a whole mess. I went into the shop asking for tissue to clear it, the worker named Ridi started being for stating that the lid was not stuck properly. Later he started swearing at me. Upon asking for name, he refused to give. When I asked for the details of him to another worker named Ken, he also refused to give the name and also tried to hide his own name badge. Absolute vile behaviour. I regularly visit this place to get breakfast as Greggs is a great place. These two person needs attitude training first before being allowed to serve customers with a hot cup of coffee.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
