Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Les sandwichs sont frais, il y a des trucs chauds à manger comme du poulet pané, avec une mention spéciale pour le yums yum, une sorte de donut croustillant (donc gras et sucré, mais très bon). Pas de quoi manger sur place

Speed of service... actually I have to correct myself there is no speed, just service but even that is terrible. Asked for sausage rolls after waiting for unreasonable time in the queue with two customer only. So when I asked for them the lady was looking at me like if I was speaking a foreign language. Then for the fifth time she understood and I was shown the hot hold. She made me a face when you are in the school canteen and you tell the old lady who serves the food and smells from coffee, cigarette and alcohol from last night, that you doesn't like the baked beans with your sausages. I even regretted I was born. Very rude. After being in hospitality management for years I can clearly say, this isn't the place for her to work in. First in this Greggs and last. I'll buy from retail and bake it at home instead of going back.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
