Appalling customer service. After 15 years of loyal shopping here, I was subjected to aggressive handling, judgment, and public humiliation as a mother while simply trying to complete a standard grocery shop with my daughter. My daughter was kindly helping me scan 4 beers they asked for her Id she passed them through scanner to help me, I told the lady these are for me she refused to sell them albeit I am 53 mother. So I then purchased the rest of my shopping went back picked up the beerd myself and put them through self check out whilst doing this I heard the lady that refused me before shout out in front of everyone do not serve that lady which was humiliating and made me feel like an inadequate mother these beers were for me how dare she point shout out so everyone heard made me feel like a criminal a bad mother as if I was purchasing these for my 17 year old daughter to drink which was not the case absolutely horrified they refused me to purchase them . When escalated to the Executive Office, the response was completely unsatisfactory. There is a total lack of professional communication and training at this branch. Tesco has officially lost my business. The Lidl down the road in Tring is cheaper, has better parking, better stock, and employs staff who are professional and non-judgmental. Avoid this Tesco if you expect basic human decency.

Would give zero stars if I could. Went to buy meal deal plus some g&t for me as we were on holiday in the area, my daughter helped me scan and the lady came over and refused to serve the alcohol as my daughter had scanned it. she said without ID I cant buy the drink because she scanned it you can’t have it. I understand the laws of not selling alcohol to under 18s, but the alcohol was for myself and no other explanation was given. Never had this issue at any other supermarket. Very rude staff member named Mary.

I popped in late one evening to get a phone top up. Although the customer services was closed they were super helpful and did it at a till for me.

Tring Tesco, after carefully packing my shopping as I go placing bread and other delicate goods so they won’t be squashed I had a bag check,no problem there, the person who DID the check completely rearranged the shopping damaging the bread etc, sadly I didn’t notice this I got home, more care should be taken by staff when bag checks are called for.
