Food was good for the price, service was excellent, BUT the loos were so dirty it nearly made my mother sick. Come on, a bit bleach and a clean goes a long way

Apparently Beefeater restaurants are all being phased out. Stand-alone restaurants are being closed, while those attached to Premier Inns will be turned into rooms, with catering provided for hotel guests only, which I presume is what will happen to the Crows Nest. Meanwhile it all looks and feels a little tired. In truth both the food and service are still good value for money, but bar drinks are expensive. If you're a Beefeater fan, go there while you still can as I don't know what the schedule is for starting the conversion. Otherwise, as stated it's good value if you happen to be passing, but not worth going out of you way to find it.

I came here for lunch with my family and did not have a good experience. When we walked in, the person stood at the podium did not acknowledge us and we had to ask him if we could find a table to which he seemed irritated. We sat down and I had a gluten free menu as I am coeliac. Cutlery was brought over and I was assured this had been sterilised. I had my meal which was pretty dry but okay. 30 mins later when I got home I became unwell with the symptoms of gluten exposure. I have been a coeliac for 20 years and this was the worst reaction I've had in a very long time. I don't believe this was a case of cross contamination, I think I was given a standard meal instead of a gluten free one. I've spent the last 4 weeks unable to eat the majority of foods because the damage to my gut sustained whilst eating this meal has been so severe. Save your money and definitely don't eat here if you have allergies/coeliac disease.
