  I purchased a Meal Deal and tapped my Clubcard at the checkout, but I was charged the full price instead of the Meal Deal price. As it was a working day, I was unable to return to the store the same day. I went back the following day to request a refund at Customer Services. Unfortunately, the staff did not seem to be aware of which items qualified for the Meal Deal. They informed me that the items needed to be scanned again to process a refund. I explained that the items had been purchased the previous day and were no longer available. I was then advised that I should have checked my receipt on the day of purchase. My point is that if the Meal Deal discount did not apply despite me purchasing eligible items and scanning my Clubcard, the error was with Tesco's checkout system, not mine. Customers should not be expected to identify and correct scanning errors after leaving the store. I was disappointed by the lack of assistance from the staff and expected the issue to be resolved with a refund. Instead, I was left out of pocket and frustrated by the experience. As a result, I intend to avoid shopping at the Royston Tesco in the future.
