  Inconsistent service and shocking staff attitude ​We shop at Tesco every week, but our latest visit was incredibly frustrating due to a massive contradiction in how policy is enforced and the shocking attitude of the staff. ​I (37m) was buying our weekly groceries along with a crate of beer. Even though I showed valid ID, the cashier—a very passive-aggressive lady with pink hair who works at the checkouts—refused the sale because my pregnant girlfriend didn't have her ID on her. While I understand the Challenge 25 policy, this employee was dismissive and rude from the start. ​The real hypocrisy happened next: as we left, I noticed she had accidentally scanned and left a bottle of Prosecco in our shopping bag. When I walked back to point out the contradiction—refusing a crate of beer but letting a bottle of wine go through—she became defensive. When I told her I would be reporting the poor service to Head Office, she literally replied, "Well, good." ​Enforcing policy is fine, but doing it inconsistently while treating loyal customers with utter disrespect is unacceptable. Management seriously needs to look into staff training and customer service standards at this store.

  Aggressively accosted & accused of stealing a 24-pack of Pepsi Max by individual member of staff because self-checkout falsely scanned item after everything was paid for. She held me there like I was a criminal where I then had to tell her how to do her own job showing her how to print last receipt to prove my innocence... She didn't even apologise for treating me in such an awful manner. Also other incidents where 'Clubcard Price' not reflecting at checkout & again staff made out I was in the wrong or trying to deceive them despite showing them the price on the shelf proving I was correct all along.
