- CTColin and Annie Thomas3 days ago2.0Lovely, friendly staff and a really good pot of tea…but I’m sorry to say the food was dreadful. I had scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with bacon. The eggs were rubbery, clearly pre cooked and heated up, the toast was hardly toasted so soggy, and I could have soled my shoes with the bacon. My husband’s Shakshuka was a bit better. Eggs were ok but extremely underwhelming for the money .

Everything was fresh and well presented, and it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a meal or coffee. Would definitely recommend Esquire Cafe and will happily visit again! ☕️🍽️
- AAamysquieAug 8, 20263.0My husband has been coming here for years and getting a cheese and tomato toastie, it was never on the menu but since they did other cheese toasties it was easy for them to just chuck a few tomatoes in. Now the menu police say they won't make it, and I've seen them turn other customers away for other simple requests recently. It's a shame because they do some nice drinks but otherwise it's nothing special compared to other cafes. We'll stick to the lovely Halsey's from now on where they actually seem to want to keep customers...

Highly disappointing, limited menu choices, and poor staff attitude regarding the poached eggs, which resulted in us not ordering and leaving without ordering.
- SSstarJul 15, 20262.0Stale pancakes and overly sweet matcha, savoury food is fine but man support locals cafes rather than chains cause this is just unacceptable. I thought the pancakes were fine at first but when I had the top bit that was quite hard to bite in, I knew it was already going to be bad… The Matcha was just like drinking pure sugar Shame :/
