  Very disappointing experience at this Tesco store today. I’m a regular customer here and visited today with my young son in his buggy. I was buying just three items, all of which I had scanned at the self-service checkout. The machine kept showing an error when I placed the cauliflower in the bagging area, so I simply held it in my hand. It was still clearly showing on the screen, and I was about to pay for everything. Just as I pressed the payment button, a female member of staff with short hair and glasses rushed over, interrupted my transaction and started checking my scanned items. Not a single word of explanation, no “excuse me” or “sorry”. She simply checked everything, said “Yeah, that’s fine” and walked away. I found her attitude extremely rude and unpleasant. The way she approached me and looked at me made me feel as though she was expecting to catch me stealing something. I completely understand that shops need to prevent theft, but surely there is a more respectful and professional way of dealing with paying customers? Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve felt that staff at this particular store seem suspicious of customers shopping with young children or buggies. Just because I’m shopping with my child doesn’t mean I’m stealing anything! I made it clear at the time that I wasn’t happy with the way I had been treated, but the staff member didn’t seem bothered in the slightest. As someone who shops here regularly, I find this behaviour completely unacceptable. I would expect management to look into this incident and would also appreciate an apology from the staff member concerned. There is absolutely nothing wrong with checking items, but basic manners and respect towards customers should not be too much to ask.

  Always use Tesco's at this place for me bits and stuff, still a bit pricey but not as much as the rest.

  Went to Tesco for a few bits and bought a few packets of Crisps Seabrook ready salted and when got home and open one and started eating I turned the bag and saw that the expiration date is 25/7/26 and as I said already ate more than half a bag . I found this very unpleasant and very unprofessional from the management and staff floor as they should have checked the stock is in date before they put up for sale . I will be contacting the Citizen Consumer Advice Service and I will get in touch as well with Environmental Health Department as this shop it is a risk for the society that visit it everyday and ultimately they put food on the table for they family at home . Please check the dates before you buy anything from this store as is now reached the very low standards for consumer safety.
