Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

We went in to Greggs in Borehamwood on Monday,
19th Jan, '26 and thought it might be nice to use our £20 'Lifestyle' gift card, a Christmas present.
The card was SO complicated to use, even the assistant, a much younger woman and very 'tech savvy' agreed when I said after nearly half an hour of fits 'n starts and hiccups, going back to my email from Lifestyle, for required reference, etc., it's hardly worth the bother.
I almost gave up.
Kym, the lovely, cheery assistant carried on trying, however - while continuing serving other customers throughout. There is SUCH a complicated process to use these cards, as another lady in the store said. She had one, from another supplier and wanted to use it in Primark, but couldn't. She gave up!!
So, the card providers gain and I do not doubt many customers lose out.
Kym saved the day for us and eventually sorted it all out.
Including the fact I kept being told I spent £10, when I had spent £7.15. It kept showing my balance as £10, although when I spent a further £2.80 there, it paid the £2.80 from my balance.
Why did it not show - even when Kym searched - that my balance was actually £12.85??
It continually said balance £10.
I wrote to Lifestye help desk/customer service weeks ago telling them I had problems registering the card.
They replied saying they would get back. but would have to deal with 'older emails first.'
They have not come back, to date.
One can only wonder:
How many emails (of similar complaints?) do they have.
Thanks to Kym, she is a star. Patient, smiley, helpful and very professional all round.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
