Co-op need to review their recruitment policy. They have hired someone who is not only rude and obnoxious, she needs basic training in how to operate the till, and has no concept of customer service. After shopping here for over 10 years, I have had two incidents, one in November and one early December. In November I put all my shopping through the self scan checkout but there was a problem. I was told to pick it all up and join the queue, lazy so called assistant couldn’t even be bothered to look at the till. My vouchers were then not taken off. So I asked for refund of the items. And bought them again once the lazy assistant had reset the self checkout.
In December I was charged twice for an item, had to recover it through my bank. I told her I thought my card had gone through twice, her response was she wasn’t stupid. I beg to differ at this point. They say problems always start with management - on that day I had an unfortunate encounter of what I think was a manager - short slightly stocky medium dark haired guy almost barging me out the way to put discounted food out.
The old staff were better, I don’t see them anymore. The systems were sometimes slow or errored but they fixed issues and were polite enough. These new staff I haven’t seen before should all be sent packing to the back of dole queue
