  Me and my friend arrived at the restaurant to be told we couldn’t get a table as there was a party of 17 being served even tho there was only 1 other table of 4 (we didn’t mind and understood and went back after 40 minutes as told by member of staff) When we came back we were seated pretty quickly and given menus, we then waited at least 20 minutes and thats underestimating for our order to be taken and it was not busy in the slightest, only 4 other tables the whole time we were there, bearing in mind the 17 had already been served and eaten. Once we ordered it was fascinating watching the food being made in the open plan kitchen with the wood fired pizza oven and everything being made from scratch, the chefs were trying their best to get the food made extremely fast and it was put on the counter when ready, they shouted “service please” for the waiters/waitresses to come and collect the food multiple times and they didn’t take any notice till the chefs got visibly angry and looked round the corner for them (all stood at the drinks counter not doing much), it wasn’t great for customers to see, it should be seamless. We received our food and it was gorgeous, it really was thoroughly enjoyed but I was half way done my pizza before my sweet potato fries came to the table and the server didn’t apologise for the late arrival, they were also cold as they were sat for quite a while. Once we had finished our meal I believe they usually come over with the card machine to pay rather than having a que at the counter but we could only sit there for so long before I had to get up and ask to pay the bill and ask for a box for my leftover pizza, the lady didn’t seem impressed that she had to go and make up a pizza box for me and that that id went up to pay. Everything seemed like a problem for the staff serving, it’s a shame as it’s been off putting even though the food was lovley, I work in hospitality myself so I’m not one to complain or write a bad review but feel like others need to be aware of the service, if you are expecting top class nice service I wouldn’t be recommending zizzi’s unfortunately. As we were leaving the couple at the door were told they couldn’t get a table even after coming back for the second time at the time they were told to arrive. Another couple wanted to move tables and the lady serving wasn’t impressed that she’d have to wipe the table to seat them on the one they wanted. Nothing should be a problem to staff and a “yes no bother at all” with a smile wouldn’t go a miss. Not sure if this is normal service but I think some staff training is required.

  Food was great but the first time we walked in to make a reservation the host was super rude about the fact we walked in to make a reservation for later so we went somewhere else and we came back the next night. 2/10 service 8/10 food

  Very poor service. Everyone clearly not happy to be working there. Restaurant is always half empty but still they feel understaffed. We previously had great experience so not sure what happened. Manager was present so it's definitely on her if she can't motivate her staff to be welcoming. Food average and overpriced.

  Wir hatten heute ein wunderbares Mittagessen bei Zizzi – wirklich das beste Mittagessen, das wir während unserer Reise hatten! Die Vongole mit Meeresfrüchten war ausgezeichnet. Dylan hat uns sehr freundlich und aufmerksam bedient und uns von Anfang an herzlich willkommen fühlen lassen. Wir haben unseren Besuch sehr genossen! 😊

  We are big fans of Zizzi. We eat fairly regularly and usually have a great experience. Not this time! We arrived on time and were shown to our table with menus and it took a full 15 minutes before we were approached again for drinks/to order and that was only because I caught the eye of our server and beckoned her over. Yes it was busy but usually you’re seen to pretty quickly. We gave our order, my partner did not want a starter but I did. The server then suggested we have all of the food delivered at once ie my starter and main at the same time. I wasn’t keen, my wife didn’t mind waiting until I was finished. The server became quite insistent and it got to the stage that I agreed simply because it was becoming a little embarrassing. The food arrived fairly quickly and I felt that I had to rush my prawns because my truffle carbonara would be getting cold. My partners pomodoro arrived without the mozzarella on top which they eventually brought to us but, of course, because it wasn’t placed immediately onto the piping hot food it didn’t actually melt. Saying that, it didn’t really matter as the dish was overly seasoned with pepper. This is a regular dish my partner has but never has it been like that. She barely ate any and we were never approached to ask how things were to say and decided not to make a fuss. When the server came to clear our plates we explained but other than a shrug, nothing was said and no offer to comp the dish was made. Perhaps we should have made a bigger fuss at the time but it’s not our nature. It used to be that you recognised the staff from previous visits but these days it seems to be different people every time and I wonder if the obvious high turnover of staff may be having a detrimental impact on the quality of service. Both my dishes were great it must be said and that is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 but this visit has certainly put us off from considering eating here again.
