Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

atmosphere and service is pretty good but the food is not. first time I went to this Gregg's was actually my first time trying it. Heard it's supposed to be good so I got a few different things. my ham and cheese toastie was soggy and my sausage roll was overcooked. That was a couple months back so I figured I would try it again today because maybe it was just a fluke. this time, all of my food that was meant to be hot was stone cold. when I heated up what was meant to be a steak bake and took a bite out of it, it turned out to be a chicken bake. I wouldn't have really minded that much if they just told me about it when I picked it up because at least I would have known about it and I could have thrown it out (chicken bakes/pies make me feel quite ill and it's kind of impossible to tell what's in it until I bite into it). I would also like to add this order was placed on just eat and when I reached out to them, they said they had already credit my account prior due to the issue which was not true, they credited my account due to this food being cold. I didn't find out until an hour later that my order was wrong. when I informed them of this, they essentially told me that I should have checked it before I left. I find it quite absurd that I'm expected to take a bite out of every item of my food just because the employee might have messed up. it's not my job to make sure they get my food right, it's theirs. I've worked in customer service plenty of times so to blame the customer for the employees mistake is kind of insane to me.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
