- CSCharley ShortAug 12, 20261.0Extremely disappointing experience at Co-op today. I went in with my two children, along with my sister and her two children. One of my children suddenly got a nosebleed, so I politely asked a member of staff if I could have some tissue to help them. The member of staff kindly gave me some, but then immediately went back to her colleague to continue stacking the shelves and made the comment, “We should have a no kids policy.” I honestly couldn’t believe what I’d just heard. We weren’t causing any trouble, the children were simply shopping with us, and one of mine had literally just had a nosebleed. To make a comment like that within earshot of customers, especially after I had just asked for help, was incredibly rude, unnecessary and completely uncalled for. I appreciate that working in a shop can be stressful, but if you don’t want children in the store, perhaps that shouldn’t be said openly in front of customers who have children with them. I left feeling really disappointed and uncomfortable. A little bit of understanding and basic professionalism would have gone a long way.
