About

Bakery
We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth. Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks. Whether you’re into a hot sandwich, a pasta salad, some delicious chicken goujons or a fresh cold sandwich – our meal deals are doing the most in a mouth-watering way. Bundle on whichever side takes your fancy. We’re talking crispy Southern Fried Potato Wedges, a classic bag of crisps, protein-packed egg pots, fruit pots or creamy yoghurt. Plus, grab a drink to top it all off. From a classic Latte or a Mocha to a Raspberry Lemonade or a crisp Iced Mango & Strawberry Cooler – it’s yours. Pre-order on Click + Collect to skip the queue like a VIP, or get what you want delivered to your door via Just Eat or Uber Eats. Whichever way you have it - there’s definitely one thing better than a Greggs – and that’s a FREE Greggs. The Greggs App has never been tastier. Packed full of seriously stomach-rumbling news, rewards and ways to order – it really is the inner circle for all things yummy. Plus, it’s a sure-fire way to bag some free treats - and who doesn’t love a free treat?

Just popped into my local Greggs at Texaco Bromyard. This is my fourth visit and I was hoping the experience would have improved since my last attempt. I’m upset to say the sausage rolls and bakes were stone cold and clearly stale. The staff members are frosty and definitely don’t seem to enjoy their job. I won’t be returning.

Most of the products seem to be perpetually unavailable, anything that is available is always cold and the staff seem to always be having the worst shift of their lives. Genuinely, the worst Gregg's franchise I've encountered.

Worst Greggs on the entire planet. Never has any food in it - and when it does it’s cold. Staff don’t actually enjoy working at the place and you can tell by their attitude. Man I just want a steak bake on a Sunday why do u suck so badly. Doesn’t matter what day of the week it is this Greggs will disappoint you.

We ordered an evening surprise bag and were very disappointed. There was one sandwich, one small baguette, one toasted sandwich and 2 yumyums. We were really pleased with the previous bag we ordered which had much more. There was plenty of food still in the shop and they only had one ore bag to go before it shut so I'm not quite sure what was going on.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
