Rzadko kiedy siada się do posiłku gdzie kulinarna współczesność spotyka się z wielowiekową historią. Budynek, wzniesiony w 1558 roku mieści się na terenie starożytnego dworu Boga Zrodzonego (God Begot House), który królowa Emma, wdowa po królu Knucie w 1052 roku zapisała klasztorowi św. Swituna. Jeśli chodzi o samo menu, kuchnia zaliczyła wzloty i wpadki. Arancino dało się zjeść ale nie zapadnie mi w pamięci. Zabrakło mu tego charakterystycznego, sycylijskiego „pazura” – wyrazistego nadzienia i idealnego balansu tekstur. Tiramisu zaś było rewelacyjne! Iidealnie kremowe z dobrze wyważoną nutą kawy i amaretto oraz puszystym biszkoptem. To było doskonałe, słodkie zwieńczenie obiadu. Wielkim plusem restauracji jest obsługa. Uśmiechnięta, pomocna i dbająca o komfort gości, co przy tak turystycznym i historycznym miejscu miło zaskakuje. Jeśli szukasz poprawnych włoskich smaków w otoczeniu brytyjskiej historii – to świetny adres.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and everything just felt effortlessly well-organised. A huge thank you to Sigourney and Talle, who really made the whole experience stand out. They were so attentive without being overbearing, super friendly, and genuinely made us feel looked after. It’s rare to come across service that feels that natural and positive, but they absolutely nailed it. The food was amazing as always — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Everything came out quickly and exactly as expected, which just added to how smooth the whole visit felt. Overall, such a great experience. I’ll definitely be coming back, and it’s largely thanks to the fantastic service from Sigourney and Talle!
