Luchi is amazing, great service, so personable, friendly, she's with going back for, made sure we're looked after, I have severe food allergies and she made sure that everything i had was suitable, made me feel like there was nothing to worry about .

I’m currently staying in Winchester for a few weeks and have visited this Zizzi twice already! The food is amazing and every single member of staff is so friendly! In particularly Katie who served me today and the management team who run a great restaurant! Will be back :D

Disappointing. Before replying to this review, I suggest Zizzi take the time to read it in full. Our group of 5 had nice meals, made all the better by Tom who greeted us enthusiastically when we arrived, making us feel very welcome and was excellent throughout the evening. Tom was very attentive, friendly, efficient and professional - Zizzi are lucky to have him. Conversely, the lady manager working there made two trips to bring out our main courses but on both occasions failed to take away any of our starter plates on either of her trips back to the kitchen and just walked away empty handed both times, even though she watched us clearly struggling to move all the starter plates out the way to make room on the table for the main course plates - they were then piled up on the table and clearly in the way of us trying to eat our main courses and she just ignored them. Maybe she thought it was beneath her role as manager to clear empty plates. As she did not come back again to rectify this, I had to interrupt our group meal to walk through the restaurant to find her, as she was bringing out more food to another table, to ask her to clear our starter plates. She gave no apology and all she could say in an uninterested tone was "bear with us" and "we're busy", which made no sense at all, as it would have saved her time had she taken the plates away originally when she twice returned to the kitchen empty handed, whereas now she had to make an extra journey to do this. That is the reason for the reduced stars. This is no reflection at all on Tom's excellent service, but I suggest Zizzi address the attitude of the lady manager if you want any repeat business.

We visited last night at 9pm and were served by a member of staff named Oana, whose behaviour unfortunately ruined what could have been a pleasant evening. From the moment we arrived, she was unwelcoming and rude. Despite the restaurant being almost completely empty —with only one other table occupied — she told us to wait outside instead of seating us. When she went to wipe down a table, I stepped beside it (not blocking her at all) while my boyfriend used the bathroom, as I saw no reason to stand by the door unnecessarily. She stared at me and repeated that she needed to wipe the table, despite me not being in her way at all. Once seated, she began loudly and aggressively clearing cutlery from the table behind us, which was disruptive and unnecessary. When my boyfriend tried to order, she simply said “what do you want, tell me” — no pleasantries, no patience. We ordered a salad to share, and she brought no sharing plates — we had to manage without. I want to be clear: I am not expecting five-star hotel service. I simply expect basic human decency and politeness — the bare minimum in any hospitality setting. The other two members of staff were lovely, and the pizza was good. But Oana’s attitude was consistently dismissive and discourteous throughout our visit, and it cast a shadow over the entire evening. I hope this is addressed, as it’s a real shame given the food quality.

The food was average and certainly not worth the price, but the real problem was the service. I’ve never felt so rushed in a restaurant. Before we had even finished our starters, the main courses were brought out. While we were still eating our mains, desserts were suddenly placed on the table. It felt less like dining and more like being pushed through as quickly as possible so the table could be turned over. For the prices this restaurant charges, I would expect at least well-trained, polite, and professional staff who understand that customers come to enjoy a meal, not to feel pressured to leave. Basic hospitality and customer care seemed completely absent. What made the experience even more disappointing was that we were dining with children, yet the restaurant did not feel family-friendly at all. Families with young children need a relaxed atmosphere and a little patience, but instead we felt rushed throughout the entire visit. A restaurant can survive average food, but poor service ruins the entire experience. Unfortunately, that was exactly the case here, and we would not return.
